Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation: During a review of the fire drill records, it was found that January, February and March 2022 were not recorded. The Manager explained that they were practiced those three months but were not recorded.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure fire drill records are practiced and recorded monthly.

Comments

At this inspection there were 6 children, 2 staff and the Manager present. At this inspection, the contravention above was identified. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following was discussed/reviewed with the Manager:
· Contents of the emergency supply kit and system in place to ensure food is not expired
· Staff documentation requirements as per CCLR s. 19(1)

This report was discussed with the Manager and a copy was emailed on Apr. 5, 2022. Inspection report was written off-site and time spent includes report writing.
