HAZARD RATING FOR YOUR FACILITY: Low (≤15) Total Score = 12
Critical Hazards: There are no critical hazards.
Non-Critical Hazards: Total Number: 2
209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
Observation: Beverage syrup bags stored directly on floor in back storage area.
Corrective Action(s): Make sure such practice is stopped. Store beverage syrups off the floor at all times.
Violation Score: 3

304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: 1) Ants noticed below dish and pot sinks in kitchen. Noted heavier activity at bottom of cabinetry bordering single pot sink (picture) and under unused water-soaked particle board shelf leaning in this space. Removed this shelf. Also observed the tile grout on floor pocked with holes in this area and to the left of the grease trap.
2) Drain flies noted in the dish sink area (minor), but a small concentration observed along the floor of the above noted area, including coming out of the pocks in the grout.
Corrective Action(s): Have Pest Control continue to take action against both ants and drain flies as discussed. Staff must also work to eliminate standing water on floor. Target grout lines in floor tile.
**Investigate the extent of the holes in groutwork in area and fix as necessary. Possible source of ant entry and drain fly breeding.

Comments

Grease trap is off-gassing into the working area of kitchen. Long exposure to these gases is not healthy for staff. Recommend the installation of a proper rubber gasket around lid of grease trap to eliminate sewer gasses from entering premises.

Accumulation of water (possible mop drippings) noticed inside hot water tank drip pan. Some of this has migrated onto and into the floor. Mops observed leaning on the hot water tank. Suggest the mops get moved to a spot where they do not drip onto the floor or other. This will prevent the bottom of the tank from premature rusting, and extend the life of the existing floor tile in the rear storage area.
