Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: Fire Extinguisher has not been serviced annually
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that the system is in place to get the fire extinguisher serviced annually.

Comments

At the inspection dated December 12, 2022 there were 2 children with the substitute. Ten minutes into the inspection licensee joined with her daughter. At this inspection, above noted contravention was identified.

Recording the Emergency Evacuation Drill on the log form.
Repayment Agreements in the Child Care Facility.
Substitute pursuing ECEA programming through distance education.
