Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All categories of care were inspected for compliance.

Contraventions

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11230 - CCLR s.47 - A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation: Upon inspection, the water temperature in the bathroom was over 49 degrees Celsius.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49 degrees Celsius.

Comments

At this inspection, the above noted contraventions were identified.
The following was discussed:
· Active Play Outside
· Nap Room

The Manager will send licensing a written response addressing the contraventions and Licensing will review the response.

As part of the routine inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed.

The inspection report was written off-site, all details were reviewed prior to writing the report. A copy of the inspection report and risk assessment will be e-mailed to the facility.
