Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Display cooler was found to be 7 degrees Celsius.
Corrective Action(s): Display cooler must be 4 degrees Celsius or less. Display cooler is a new piece of equipment that the operator recently added. Adjust the thermostat to ensure foods can be maintained at 4 degrees Celsius or less. Operator corrected at time of inspection.

Comments

General observations:
Coolers (except as noted above) were 4 degrees Celsius or less.
Freezers were -18 degrees Celsius or less.
Hot holding units were over 60 degrees Celsius.
Hand sinks with liquid soap and paper towels available for food handlers to use.
Food display and storage practices are satisfactory.
Organization of storage areas is satisfactory.
General sanitation is satisfactory, but discussed with operator about ensuring areas under and behind equipment are cleaned regularly.
Chlorine sanitizer (spray bottle and sink) - 200ppm
Chemicals are stored in a safe manner.
No signs of pests.

As part of new layout, operator has expanded front customer area and will provide seating for up to 10 people. Operator is in the process of opening a second location in Vancouver, BC (5073 Victoria Drive) which will also serve as their main production facility. After the Vancouver location is in operation, the New Westminster location will minimize production.
