Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19060 - CCLR s.57(1)(a)(b)(c) - A licensee must keep current records for each child showing (a) the information set out in subsection (2), (b) if applicable, the information and agreements set out in subsections (2.1) and (2.2), and (c) the consents referred to in subsection (3).
Observation: During the routine inspection the licensing officer observed that 8 children were present in the facility. One child did not have a file on site. Staff confirmed that the child attends the site daily for 1 hour.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all children attending the facility have a file on site.

Comments

At the inspection dated December 14, 2022 there were 8 children and 2 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified . Actions required by the licensee and actions required the LO included here. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Promoting Active Play in the program
· A conversation regarding guiding young children's behaviour was had with the manager and the staff present on site.
· Active Supervision
· A conversation was had regarding the review of care plans.
