Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Staff member observed washing hands with water only (no soap) after handling cash.
Corrective Action(s): Staff member reminded to wash hands using soap. Staff member re-washed hands using hot and cold running water, soap, and drying with single use paper towels prior to preparing customer order. Ensure that hands are washed properly with hot and cold running water, liquid hand soap, and dried with single use paper towels to prevent potential contamination of food and/or food contact surfaces.

Routine inspection conducted:

- "Euro Display" at -3 degrees C (ambient) / 3 degrees C (internal food temperature)
- "Fridge #1" (under counter cooler) at 2 degrees C
- "Fridge #2" (upright 2-door glass cooler) at 3 degrees C
- "Fridge #3" (preparation cooler) at 2 degrees C (above) and 3 degrees C (below)
- Yogurt internal food temperature at 3 degrees C
- "Dip Cabinet" sorbet freezer at -14 degrees C
- Walk-in Freezer at -14 degrees C
- Thermometers available for coolers. Reminder: Ensure that freezer units are equipped with thermometers accurate to 1 degree C.
- Dipper well for scoops is functional
- Hand washing station is unobstructed and supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid hand soap, and single use paper towels.
- Staff wear clean garments and hair is restrained
- Non-latex gloves available
- Three compartment sink is set up for manual ware washing. Three sink plugs are present and 200 ppm quaternary ammonium compounds (quats) detected in sanitizing compartment. Staff able to describe proper manual ware washing procedures.
- Quats sanitizer available in two labeled spray bottles measured at 200 ppm quats. Quats test strips are available on site.
- Juicing equipment was dismantled at time of inspection and observed to be in sanitary condition. Staff stated that internal components are washed, rinsed, then sanitized either immediately after (citrus juicer) use or approximately every two hours (wheat grass and large juicer)
- Ice machine in sanitary condition. Ice scoop stored safely in clean container.
- General sanitation excellent
- No signs of pest activity observed
- Washroom in clean condition
- Temperature records well maintained
- Health operating permit was framed and placed on display in front area at time of inspection
Note: Upright 1-door glass cooler was measured at 15 degrees C and it was stated by staff that this cooler is exclusively for storage of whole fruits and vegetables. Only whole fruits and vegetables were observed within this cooler at time of inspection.
