Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment]. Observation: Licensing reviewed facility records and observed that record of the fire drill for the month of June was missing. The licensee advised that the fire drill was conducted. Corrective Action(s): Please ensure record respecting compliance with monthly fire drills. Date to be Corrected: June 30, 2019

Summary of Inspection At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The following was discussed: Promoting Active Play in the program Active Supervision Lead in the Water Creating an alternate system for keeping record of any minor accidents, illnesses or unexpected events involving children if the information is confidential The following resources were provided: Reportable Incident Bulletin Fact sheet- lead in drinking water Visit the CCFL website at www.fraserhealth.ca/childcare for additional resources, and links to the Legislation (CCALA and CCLR).
