Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12210 - CCLR s.23(1)(a) - A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.
Observation: The Licensee's first aid certificate expired last week.
Corrective Action(s): The Licensee will apply to renew her certificate and will review the first aid manual in the meantime.

At this inspection, the above noted contravention was identified. Licensing is requesting a written response by March 13, 2024 advising how the contravention will be addressed.

As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed.

The following was discussed:

· Connecting with Licensing when the fence will be repaired. The fence is temporarily reinforced but requires repair.
· Other ways to keep record of yearly care plan reviews.

The information contained in the report was discussed with the Licensee and the report and risk assessment were written on-site. Licensing advised that copies of the report and risk assessment would be emailed to the facility.
