Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: there is a large nail protruding from the wood on the steps
Corrective Action(s): please ensure the nail is removed or made in accessible to the children

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11190 - CCLR s.16(4)(b) - A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation: the following areas need to be replaced or fixed , the climber has some broken wood on the hand grip and the barkmulch needs to be increased indepth in the area so the drop from the slide and the step is less
Corrective Action(s): please ensure the areas are addressed , staff stated there is barkmulch on order but has not arrived , not sure when it will arrive

HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE: 15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation: water bottles are stored so that they touch causes a cross contamination of bacteria and viruses
Corrective Action(s): please ensure the water bottles are stored so they don't touch
