Observation: Staff person only has a local Police Check. CRC from Victoria has not been completed

STAFFING: 12120 - CCLR s.19(2)(c) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee is satisfied, based on the information available to the licensee under subsection (1) and the licensee's or, in the case of an employee who is not the manager, the manager's own observations on meeting the person, that the person (c) has the training and experience and demonstrates the skills necessary to carry out the duties assigned to the manager or employee.
Observation: References are available, but Manager did not conduct reference check to determine assessment. This person has been employed for several months.
Corrective Action(s): Evidence that potential staff person's assessment has been completed through references must be done to ensure the person has the training, experience and skills.

CARE AND/OR SUPERVISION: 14030 - CCLR s.34(2)(b) - Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation: There is a staff person whom the Manager has been utilizing as an ECEA, this person does not meet the qualification as they do not hold a valid ECEA from BC. This person is considered a responsible adult
Corrective Action(s): Staff to child ratio must be maintained
