Follow up inspection.
Nails:
- Infection Control Plan has been updated.
- Operator has provided high level disinfectant for semi critical items and has posted instructions. Expiry date Nov 9, 2024.
- Back up can be chlorine (50mL bleach in 450 ML water) for high level disinfection of semi critical items.
- Absorbent files are discarded after single use (one client only).
- Metal foot files are not being used (as per worker) - using disposable callus remover pads or disposable sanding pad.
- For foot bath after each client, discard liner and use an intermediate level disinfectant (such as if using bleach, use 10mL bleach in 490 mL water). Update infection control plan.
** For all chemicals, use carefully and follow directions on labels.
- No ingrown nail removal permitted.
- Tool used to clean under toenail that had wooden handle has been discarded and replaced with a fully metal tool.
- Keep nail supply and clean up room organized.
Waxing:
- Infection control plan updated.
Eyelash Extensions:
- Eyelash extension services now permitted.
- Infection control plan submitted for lash extensions.
- Only lash technician with certificate and training can provide these services.
- Use room with hand washing sink.
- The waxing cart and waxing items are to be separate from lash extension cart/area.
- Fully clean sink, cart, and tools and wash hands before providing lash services.
- Use only glue with proper Health Canada labelling (see email).
- Be aware of first aid recommendations re the eyelash glue.
