Introduction

CCFL conducted a scheduled routine inspection using the L.O. guide to data base coding. The Manager was on site at time and available to answer any questions.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 31300 - RCR s.22(1)(c) - A licensee must ensure that all rooms and common areas are (c) maintained in a safe and clean condition.
Observation: Some of the kitchen cupboards (interior) appear to be soiled. The black splash behind the kitchen counter also appears to be very soiled. In close view and in discussion with the Manager it appears this area may be very difficult to clean and therefore may need to be replaced.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all areas of the facility are maintained in a clean condition.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 39320 - RCR s.83(4)(a) - Subject to subsection (5), a licensee, other than a licensee who provides a type of care described as Hospice, must (a) ensure that each person in care is weighed at least once each month.
Observation: In review of the documentation for one resident, it appears the monthly wight has not been taken or recorded.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all residents are weighed monthly and a record is kept.

In general, this facility appears to have effective systems in place to maintain compliance with the RCR and CCALA.
