Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: In the back outdoor play area, licensing observed a wire that has been stripped causing the tip of the wire to be accessible.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees

Comments

At today’s inspection there were 8 children, 1 staff and the manager and licensee present.
At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. The Licensee will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to licensing by Feb 15/23 stating how you have addressed the above noted contraventions. Licensing will review the response. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
The contents of the inspection report were reviewed with the manager and written on-site. A copy of this report will be emailed to the manager.
The following was discussed with the manager;
- Contents to include in a minor incident log
- Upcoming expiry of Criminal Record Check and ECE certification
- Requirements if using DIN or NPN products in first aid kits
