Summary of Inspection:
At the inspection dated September-23-2020 there were 11 children in care with 3 staff members including the Manager.
A COVID-19 Risk Screening was conducted on site, before the inspection.
At the inspection, no contraventions were identified.
No further action is required by Licensing or by the Licensee.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed.
This report was written off site and is unsigned due to COVID-19 safety practices.
A copy of the report and the corresponding Risk Assessment was emailed to the Manager and Licensee.
The following items were discussed:
-Planned emergency response during COVID-19.
-Communicable disease prevention practices.
-Health/hygiene/sanitizing practices during COVID-19 which included review of cleaning and sanitizing as multiple steps and review of proper diapering practices.
-A COVID-19 Infection Control Assessment was conducted.
-Problem solved systems to store children's belongings so that they don't touch each other, reducing the chance of cross contamination.
-An activity room attached to the main play space is currently inaccessible to children in care. The Licensee indicated that enrollment is low due to the pandemic. Enrollment is at approximately16 children. The activity room needs to be made accessible to the children in care when enrollment increases. The activity room was counted in useable floor space as part of amendment of care type, and should be made available as soon it has been organized and hazards have been addressed. Please inform Licensing of the progress of organizing/completing the activity room for children's use.
