Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Curry was being reheated on a hot holding unit and had a temperature of 40-50 C.
Corrective Action(s): Discontinue this practice. It was reheated on the stove during the inspection.

306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
Observation: Cleaning needed on the shelving in the spice area and to the left of the 3-comp sinks to remove food debris buildup.
Corrective Action(s): 1 week.

308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
Observation: The dishwasher was not in good working order. The "start" button was not working properly and the dishwasher would not turn on.
Corrective Action(s): Fix the dishwasher as soon as possible. In the meantime, use the 3-compartment sink method of wash/ rinse/ sanitize in a 100 ppm chlorine solution for 2 minutes. A bleach solution was prepared during the inspection with one cup of bleach added.

311 - Premises not maintained as per approved plans [s. 6(1)(b)]
Observation: As noted in the last report, replace the light cover at the light that is located near the dishwasher and completely seal the hole in the wall along the floor. Currently, there is tape partially covering the hole.
Corrective Action(s): 2 weeks.

Comments

All coolers were < 4 C.
The front stand up freezer was at -18 C. The stand up freezer in the back is being replaced and is not currently in use.
No evidence of pests at this point in time.
Hand sinks supplied with hot and cold water, soap and paper towels.
Follow up inspection required.
