Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practise (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation: School Age program attendance has children signed in for this morning but they are not signed out noting departure time for school. Preschool attendance showed on one day that a child had left early but there is no time noted. Actual departure time must be noted.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure arrival and departure time is noted for each child every day.

Comments

At the inspection dated December 17, 2018, there were 13 children and 2 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Promoting Active Play in the program
· Temporary Placements
· Active Supervision
· Lead in the Water
-dates are to be noted on care plans to ensure they contain the most current information and to ensure they are reviewed at least once a year
