Observation: 1) Side entrance/exit door near the dry storage area was left open.
2) Main door entrance/exit was left open.
3) One hole was present in the dry storage room near the dining area.
Corrective Action(s): 1) Both doors were closed during the inspection. Make sure all entrance/exit doors are kept shut rather than left open during operation to prevent pests from entering the restaurant. [Corrected]
2) Seal the hole in the dry storage room; Correct today.

308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
Observation: Door knob requires to be replaced at the side entrance/exit door.
Corrective Action(s): Operator has placed a disposable cup in the gap for the time being. Re-install the door knob at this door; Correct by September 22, 2019.

Comments

Follow up inspection:
-Rodent droppings were removed from affected areas.
-Pest control report dated July 16, 2019 from Star Pest Control was available on-site.
-Make sure you have a pest control service done by next week (by September 26, 2019) and provide the district Health Inspector a copy of the pest control report.
-100 ppm chlorine sanitizer was available inside a bucket with a wiping cloth in the kitchen and inside a spray bottle.
-Lower surfaces of prep. surfaces were in a clean condition.
-Cleaning improvements were made to the floor in the food preparation area.
-Drain plugs were available for the 3-compartment sink.
-Storage area near the dining area was de-cluttered.
-Clearance was being left behind the chest freezer to facilitate better monitoring and cleaning.
-Lids and exterior surfaces of the dry storage containers were cleaned to remove food debris.


Continue with the pest control program and pest control measures (checks each day for signs of recent pest activity, regular cleaning, sealing off entry points, keeping doors shut, and keeping food covered in pest proof containers). A follow up inspection will be conducted.
