Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: Licensing randomly reviewed 4 children's files and noted that 1 child was missing emergency contacts on file.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure emergency contacts are on file.

Comments

At the inspection dated June 4, 2021 there were 8 children and 2 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Actions required by the licensee include providing a written response.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

A COVID-19 Risk Screening was also completed.

Licensing conducted a walk-through of the entire facility.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
- Reportable incident procedures
- Additional sanitizing/cleaning of the facility including toys and equipment
- Current photo or digital image of children
- Bound book for minor incident logs
- Portable container for emergency supplies
