Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: During the routine inspection, the emergency supplies were verified and it was observed that the water and the food were expired, therefore not usable in case of an emergency.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the children and staff have access to emergency supplies so they mitigate, respond and recover from an emergency.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: During the inspection 7 random children's files were reviewed and 4 children's files were missing a medical practitioner and phone number.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all children's files are complete.

Comments

At the inspection dated April 14, 2022 there were 7 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Actions required by the licensee and actions required the LO included here. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Accommodating children who require more than one nap
· Active Supervision
· Lead in the Water

The following resources were provided:
· Reportable Incident Bulletin
· Reportable incident forms
· Care Plan Bulletin
