Observation: - Mouse droppings noted on floor under bench seat in alcove in seating area (being used as storage area).
- Minor amount of nesting material noted on floor in alcove area.

Corrective Action(s): - Clean floor to remove droppings and nesting materials and disinfect floor area.
- Notify Pest Control Technician of rodent activity within this area for additional monitoring and control measures to be applied in this area.
- Eliminate/address any harbourage or entrance points.
- Submit a copy of pest control report to EHO for review.

Observation: - Alcove where bench seat and table are located is currently being used as storage for paper products and merchandise. Area is cluttered with boxes and items stored on the floor creating harbourage areas for pests.

Note: No food products present within this area.
Corrective Action(s): - Remove all items from floor. Store products in designated storage areas on shelving 6 inches off of the floor to facilitate cleaning and monitoring for pest activity. To be corrected: 22-July-2022

306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
Observation: 1) Numerous bags of garbage were noted in back storage/dishwashing area. There is limited space in back storage/dishwashing area and accumulation of bags of garbage can affect access to handwashing sink and can attract pests.
2) Debris/spills noted on hard to reach areas of the floor (under ice machine and cooler) in back storage/dishwashing area.

Corrective Action(s): 1) Take bags of garbage to outdoor garbage bin more frequently throughout the day so they do not accumulate within premises.
2) Thoroughly clean floor under equipment in back storage/dishwashing area to remove debris/spills.

Comments

- Handsink in front service area and back storage/dishwashing area supplied with hot and cold water, liquid soap and paper towel.
- Coolers were operating at required temperatures (4C or colder):
- Espresso bar 2 door undercounter cooler 2C
- Cold bar 2 door undercounter cooler 3C
- Self serve reach in display cooler 1C
- Single door under counter cooler 1C
- 2 door reach in cooler (back) 1C
- Freezers were operating at required temperatures (-18C or below):
- Single door reach in freezers -21C, -25C
- Temperature records were up to date.
- Ice machine appears clean and maintained. Scoop stored in a sanitary manner.
- High temperature dishwasher was operational. Final rinse measured 76.9C at dish surface with min/max thermometer.
- Quats surface sanitizer (200ppm) present from dispenser at warewashing sink.
- In use wiping cloths kept in containers with quats sanitizer solution (200ppm)
- Quats test strips present for verifying sanitizer concentration
- Staff/public washroom maintained with liquid soap and paper towel/air dryer for handwashing.
- Pest control contract in place with monthly service.

Note: Health operating permit is present/posted; however, valid decal is affixed to business licence. Decal should be affixed to Health operating permit.


Observations and corrective actions reviewed with Supervisor and a copy of the report was provided.
