Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSOP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Licensing observed the paint on the outdoor fence in the front yard playground is peeling. There were some pieces of the peeled paint on the ground accessible to children.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a safe and healthy environment is provided at all times while children are in care.

Comments

At the inspection on August 15th, 2023 there were 7 children and 2 staff present.
At this inspection, the above noted contraventions were identified.

The following was discussed:
- Antiseptic wipes in the first aid kit with NPN/ DIN numbers

As part of this Routine inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed onsite and a copy will be emailed.
