Introduction

All areas of the community care facility (CCF) were inspected for compliance during an unscheduled routine inspection to assess compliance w/ the:
• Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA)
• Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR)
• relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP)

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #CGEE-AM7PB9 have been corrected except for those noted on supplementary pages.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12040 - CCLR s.19(1)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation: An employee lacked their CRC onsite. The administrator stated that this employee's CRC has been shared, but there was no evidence onsite.
Corrective Action(s): The license must ensure that all requirements of § 19 are obtained by employees' 1st day of employment.

STAFFING: 12090 - CCLR s.19(1)(f) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation: An employee lacked their immunization status.
Corrective Action(s): The licensee must ensure that all requirements of § 19 are obtained by employees' 1st day of employment.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13010 - CCLR s.22(1)(a) - A licensee must have all of the following: (a) emergency exits and a fire drill system approved by a local assistant within the meaning of the Fire Services Act.
Observation: The fire extinguishers required servicing in Apr/2018, as indicated on the service tag..
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that fire extinguishers are serviced by the service date indicated on the tag.
