Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #KINE-C4JPF9 have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: During inspection of the outside play area, it was found that there were fence panels and posts that were not longer in use that were not secured or removed and are being stored in an area that children have access to.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure children do not have access to the unsecured fence panels and posts.

Comments

During this inspection, there were 6 children and 2 staff present. At this inspection, the above noted contravention was identified. Actions required by the licensee included here. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
The Licensing Officer met with the manager and discussed the following:

Reportable Incident Forms provided
Log Book kept

This report was written off site; therefore, no signatures were captured at this time. Time reflects onsite visit plus report writing time. A copy of this document will be provided to the facility via email.
