Reason for Investigation - Care and supervision
Report of Findings
On August 13, 2021, CCFL received a concern regarding care & supevision. The following details were provided:
- minimum employee to children ratios not maintained
- direct supervision not maintained
- care plan for a child requiring extra support lacked pertinent details

All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Evidence was obtained via interviews & observations.

CCFL determined the following contraventions to the Child Care Licensing Regulation:
- 39(1) (Continuous supervision required)
- 58(1)(a) (Care plans)
- 58(1)(b) (Care plans)

Immediate corrective action has been taken to address contraventions. No further action required.

Observation: A child ate a food containing an allergen due to lack of supervision.

19210 - CCLR s.58(1)(a)A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.
Observation: A child's diagnoses relevant to her requirement for extra support was not explained in her care plan.
Corrective action: Corrective action required.
19220 - CCLR s.58(1)(b)A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation: A child's care plan lacked pertinent details to address her extra support needs.
