Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Sanitizer solution in the kitchen not prepared at the time of the inspection.

Comments

Inspection conducted as a result of a gastroenteritis outbreak on site.

Outbreak investigation:

The following items must be provided as soon as possible:
-To start, a list of sick people, their symptoms, when they became sick, what they ate and whether or not they saw a physician.
-Provide a copy of the menu from last week and this week.
Gastroenteritis outbreak cleaning procedures provided on site. Many containers of a 1/ 50 bleach solution were prepared during the inspection and cleaning started during the inspection. Ensure that the food contact surfaces in the kitchen are rinsed after using this solution.
There were no leftovers from previous meals on site.
Nitrile gloves in use. Hand washing discussed.
Discussed over the phone with head kitchen contact during the inspection and with staff on site.
Food is also distributed to two other locations: The Boulevard Shelter and the Russell.


Inspection:
All coolers were < 4 C.
All freezers were < -18 C.
No evidence of pests.
Hand sink in the kitchen and in the staff washroom was supplied with hot and cold water, soap and paper towels.
No evidence of pests.
Dishwasher final sanitizing rinse cycle reached 72 C at the plate level.
