All areas assessed and found to be in full compliance. At the time of inspection infants were observed sleeping in swings and bouncer seats. To reduce the risk of sleep related infant death, infants should be transferred to a crib, cradled or bassinet shortly after falling asleep in this type of equipment. While using the equipment infants should be supervised at all times and any straps provided on the equipment should be used to ensure the infant in positioned appropriately. Licensing provided a copy of the Health Link BC document Sleep Related Infant Death. The facility manager confirmed that this practice would be implemented immediately.
