Introduction

An scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: the storage of toys on the cubbies is a potential hazard in the event of an earthquake
Corrective Action(s): the licensee has a plan to address this issue, they will be looking at installing cupboard but due to availability has not bee able to,please ensure the task is completed as soon as possible.

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: the following areas are in need of repair or replacement, 1.there is a area carpet in the e 3-5 room that has become a tripping hazard with the corner turned up, 2.the outside door to the electrical equipment is in poor repair the wooden part of the door is rotting and peeling leaving the electrical area accessible to possible rodents.
Corrective Action(s): please ensure the carpet is replace or secured so that it is no longer a tripping hazard, please replace the door to ensure the electrical area is secure.please develop a plan as to how the above will be addressed.
