A heated cart (suzy-q cart) for the transport of hot potentially hazardous foods is available on site. A written proposal has been submitted for the use of the suzy-q cart for first floor and fourth floor food services. No objections to submitted proposal granted that the following requirements are met: Approved food safety and sanitation plans must be followed. Hot potentially hazardous foods must be kept at a temperature of 60 degrees C or more at all times or served immediately after cooking/reheating. Premises must comply with the Food Premises Regulation pursuant to the BC Public Health Act.
Fourth floor serveries are constructed as per construction plans previously approved by Fraser Heath, Health Protection, with the following change: Food cart storage location has been relocated to one side of each service area and counters have been extended; construction plans indicate that food cart storage location is in centre of service area with counters on either side.
Refrigerators at 4 degrees C or less, freezers satisfactory. Thermometers available for cold holding units. Hand sinks are supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid hand soap and paper towels in dispensers.
Health approval is granted for food services on fourth floor. Note that this does not exempt you from obtaining approval from any other department or government agency.
