Evidence for this report was based on the Licensing Officer’s observations, review of the facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.
The following areas were reviewed:
· Licensing
· Physical Facility
· Staffing
· Polices & Procedures
· Care & Supervision
· Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
· Medication
· Nutrition and Food Services
· Program
· Records and Reporting
As part of the routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The Risk Assessment includes non-compliance identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year “historical” review of the facility’s compliance and operation.

Comments

A conversation was had regarding active supervision and the policy was reviewed. The email from CCFL containing information on Active Supervision was received and observed posted throughout the facility. All staff were required to read and sign the active supervision alert.
Another conversation was had surrounding documenting minor incidents in the communication log. A system called hurts and hugs is added to each children's file to record minor incidents when they occur. This meets the intent of the legislation. A conversation was had surrounding the use of bleach. This LO, (Christine Lawson) will forward resources on the usage of bleach. The Manager was not available for the inspection today but the inspection was completed with the Supervisor on site.
