Handsinks near the front service area and staff washroom were supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water, and single-use paper towels.
2-compartment sink in the back room was supplied with hot and cold running water. Two functional sink plugs were available.
Manual wash, rinse, sanitize, and air dry method for reusable food contact surfaces (e.g. ice cream scoops) was reviewed.
Single-service utensils only.
Dipper well was in use for the ice cream scoops.
100 ppm chlorine sanitizer was available in the labelled spray bottle.
Both ice cream freezers behind the counter in the front service area were at or below -18 degrees C.
Chest freezer in the back room was at or below -18 degrees C.
Three chest freezers in the separate stock room were at or below -18 degrees C.
Small fridge in the back room is designated for staff personal use only.
Counter-top sneeze-guard barriers were in place for unwrapped food products (e.g. ice cream cones, melted chocolate, and chocolate sold individually and packaged to order by staff).
Food storage areas appeared clean and organized.
Dry goods in both stock rooms were covered in their original boxes/packaging.
No signs of recent pest activity were evident at the time of inspection.
Pest control program via the Mall is in place on a weekly basis.
