Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted on April 27, 2022 to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were reviewed for compliance.

Contraventions

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Upon inspection, there was a large piece on wood standing on its end in the yard and a ladder leaning against the building that posed a fall hazard.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that a safe environment is provided at all times that the children are in care.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: Upon review of the children's records, 2 files did not have emergency contacts listed.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure children's records are complete.

Comments

At the inspection dated April 27, 2022 there were 6 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. The Licensee will provide Licensing with a written response.Licensing will review the response. As part of this Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment was completed and a copy was provided.

Licensing conducted a walk-through of the entire facility.
