Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12030 - CCALA s.7(1)(a) - A licensee must do all of the following: (a) employ at a community care facility only persons of good character who meet the standards for employees specified in the regulations.
Observation: There is no evidence of screening for a support staff who is employed by an external agency.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure there is evidence that all support worker's are fully screened (eg full staff file, letter from the agency who employs the support worker.

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated February 14, 2020 there were children 60 and 15 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified/no contraventions were identified the Licensee is required to submit a written response to Licensing stating how the contravention has been addressed. As part of this routine inspection a facility risk assessment tool is completed and a copy is provided.
