304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: Rodent droppings observed from the following areas:
- floor underneath rice pallets
- floor underneath stand up freezer
- underneath onion storage unit
Pictures taken at this time. Traps in place. Facility does not have a professional pest control company contracted.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure to have ALL dropping removed. Manager had indicated droppings were not cleaned for a week. This is unacceptable.

305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
Observation: Facility had piles of rice placed at a few different locations throughout the facility:
- dry storage room floor
- behind sugar products displayed on shelf
- packaging area
- rice storage area
Manager had advised piles or rice were mixed with poisonous chemicals and purposely placed at these locations.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure to have these removed immediately as discussed at this time.

306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
Observation: The following areas require cleaning:
- walk-in cooler (i.e. floors/racks underneath vent)
- floors underneath shelving units/large equipment throughout the store/back storage room/front corners by produce cooler
- produce cooler (i.e. front rack as shown at this time)
- produce storage unit
- packaging area, left back corner of the facility
Corrective Action(s): Ensure to have the above areas cleaned.

Comments

Routine inspection conducted:

- Handwash station adequately supplied with liquid soap, paper towels and hot/cold running water.
- Coolers operating at 4'C; freezers operating at -18'C.
- Thermometers available for temperature monitoring.
- Dry storage room satisfactory.
- Bleach available.

Remove ALL droppings. Remove ALL food debris left on floors/shelves. Contact a professional pest control company for a full inspection and sign a contract for regular visits until situation improves.
Droppings must be removed DAILY and sanitize affected areas using 1000ppm chlorine solution (1:50).

Follow-up inspection to be conducted tomorrow, April 12, 2022. Failure to comply with above directions with regards to pest management will result in issuance of a Closure Order as explained at this time. Please contact the health inspector for any questions or concerns.
