Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR), and the Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation:
-Fridge temperature not maintained between 0 and 4 degrees Celsius.
-In the bathroom, one cabinet accessible to children stored aerosol bathroom spray, and plastic bags. Manager removed these during inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under supervision of employees.

Comments

Summary of Inspection:
During today’s inspection, there were 13 children, one staff, and the facility manger present.
At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Licensee is required to submit a corrective action plan to address the contraventions.

The following was discussed:
Discussion of potentially using a bathroom in another area of the facility. Licensing requested the changes be provided in writing with a supervision plan.
