Introduction

An Unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Licensee noted a manhole by the entrance of the child care where children walk to be dropped off and picked up, as well as walk to access the outdoor play space, that has a cover that is loose and in need of repair.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the manhole is repaired.

Comments

At the inspection on October 22, 2021 there were 6 children, 2 staff and the manager present.
At this inspection, the above noted contraventions were identified.

As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed off site and a copy was provided.
