Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: Emergency Supplies are insufficient to implement the emergency plan
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure there are sufficient emergency supplies that can assist in implementation of the emergency plan.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation: Upon inspection, children's departure is not being recorded.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure there is a record, for each child, that shows the daily attendance record indicating, for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Comments

At the inspection dated September 27, 2021 there were 5 children and 1 manager present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. The manager will send licensing a written response addressing the contraventions and Licensing will review the response. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
