Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation: Licensing was informed that fire drills have not been practised for this school year
Corrective Action(s): Fire drills must be practised and recorded monthly
Date to be Corrected: February 28, 2023

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Observation: Audit of 7 children's registration files unable to locate date of enrolment for all registrations
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all legislatively required documentation is obtained and maintained at all times
Date to be Corrected: March 1, 2023


Comments

At the inspection dated February 15, 2023 there were 12 children and 2 staff present.
At this inspection the above noted contravention were identified. The Licensee/Manager will take action to bring the facility into compliance however a written response is not requested at this time.

As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed. For this inspection the contents of the Facility Inspection Report and Risk Assessment were discussed and provided to the Licensee and/or Manager while on site.
