Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 1. 4 cans of mouldy/rusted sauce and food in open tin containers.
2. Raw sausage meat left on counter for over 6 hours at room temperature.
3. Broken pieces of plastic found in containers of curry, chick pea sauce.
Corrective Action(s): 1. Discarded contaminated foods. Do not keep rotten/mouldy/ food or food with rust. Do not store food in open tin cans as the cans will rust.
2. Discarded potentially hazardous foods with temperatures above 4C for more than 2 hours.
3. Discarded curry chick pea sauce with broken container.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Thawed sausage observed at 13C at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
Corrective Action(s): Sausage discarded. Do not store potentially hazardous foods at room temperature. They are required to be stored at 4C or below.

Observation: 1. Raw storage meat stored above cooked meat sauces on shelving rack (CORRECTED AT THE TIME OF INSPECTION).
2. Products stored directly on the floor in kitchen.
3. Bags of rice stored on the floor in storage room.
Corrective Action(s): Do not store raw meats above ready to eat foods. Always store raw meats on bottom shelves or away from ready to eat items. Store all products at least 15 cm off the ground on shelving. Correction required today. This is also a repeating infraction and must be corrected.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Frozen spare ribs observed at -15C stored at room temperature on shelving rack.
Corrective Action(s): Do not store or thaw frozen products at room temperature. Thawing of foods should be done in walk in cooler at 4C or below or in cold running water. Ribs were moved into working walk in cooler.

Observation: New rodent droppings observed in the following areas:
1. Undershelving of storage room.
2. Under pop can recycling container.
3. Under electrical panel.
Corrective Action(s): Wash, clean and sanitize these areas. Contact pest control company and monitor for activity. Correction required this week.

Observation: General cleaning organization in the following areas required. Old grease and food spills observed:

1.Behind and under grills of stove area. Inside the counter coolers

Corrective Action(s): Cleaning required this week.

Observation: 1. Grill counter cooler not working and not in use.
2. Walk in freezer has ice build up.
Corrective Action(s): Clean and repair these units to ensure they operate at required temperatures. Correction required in a week.

Hand washing sinks in use with paper towels, liquid soap and warm running water.
200 ppm chlorine sanitizer buckets and spray in use.
Dishwasher final rinse cycle at 100 ppm at the plate.
2 compartment dish pit sink in use for dirty plates.
Washrooms are sanitary with fully stocked hand washing sinks.

In line cooler unit inserts sliced vegetables 4C, bottom cooked ground meats 3.2C.
One in line grill cooler unit not in use.
Walk in cooler containers of rice 4C.
2 white standup freezers vegetables and meat skewers -18C.
Stand up 2 compartment steel cooler cheese and yogurt 3.6C.
White chest freezer frozen chick pea humus -16C.
Black chest freezer vanilla ice cream -18C.
Pepsi pop cooler at 4.0C whip cream (monitor this unit, recommend not leaving perishables in pop cooler).
Take out display cooler 3.6C salsa and condiments.
Bar counter cooler milk and creamers 4.0C.
Temperature thermometers in use with temperature logs.

Valid permit posted in visible location

New screen door installed.
New shelving and painting installed.
Some broken tiles replaced with new ones.
Stainless steel panel upgrades installed throughout kitchen.

This is second consecutive routine inspection where risk of contamination of ready to eat foods from raw meats were an issue. Food safety must be ensured in this food establishment.

Further noncompliance will result in enforcement such as Tickets and/or Correction Order.

Food safety educational materials in English & Punjabi dropped off for operator on June 18, 2019 and discussed.
Punjabi version of FoodSafe Level 1 issued to operator. $36 receipt will be mailed to premise for FoodSafe 1 books.
