An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). Evidence for this report was based on the Licensing Officer’s observations, review of the facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.

As part of the routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The Risk Assessment includes non-compliance identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year “historical” review of the facility’s compliance and operation.

Polices and Procedures
Director of LIcensing Standard of Practice for Active Play and Screen-Use specify's timelines regarding active play and screen time use. For Group Under 36 months childcare, 60 minutes per day is specified for active play and for children under 2 years of age, screen time should not be offered. Policies will need to be developed and shared with parents/families. Licensing to send out the Director of Licensing Standard of Practice for Active Play and Screen Use. Parent Handbook on the daily schedule indicates outdoor play is offered between 2:30 - 3:30 each day. Licensee advised that parents are verbally informed that screen time will not be offered to children in care under 2 years of age..
