Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Time children arrive at the facility was not being recorded. A check mark was being used for the time each child arrived as all of the children arrive at the same time.
Corrective Action(s): The manager added the time children arrive at the facility after school during the inspection.

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated December 18, 208 there were 16 children and 3 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. This contravention was corrected during this inspection.
The following were discussed:
· Promoting active play in the program.
· Active Supervision
· Lead in water
