Report of Findings
Licensing received a complaint on December 12, 2022, alleging concerns regarding Records and Reporting, Care and Supervision, Staffing and Physical Facility, Equipment and Furnishing. The following concerns were raised:
- Children attending the program without required records
- A child with a severe allergy attends the program without a care plan or medication
- Program exceeds maximum group size
- A staff without first aid cares for children alone
- Fire drills not practiced
- Rodent activity and children’s materials not cleaned prior to use
- Food provided in emergency supplies contains an ingredient which a child attending the program is severely allergic
- An emergency exit is blocked

All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Evidence was collected through a physical inspection of the facility, a review of children's and staff records in addition to interviewing the manager and three staff. Licensing determined the following contravention:

Observation: Licensing determined a staff did not have a valid CRC.

12190 - CCLR s.22(2)(b)A licensee must ensure that each employee (b) practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month.
Observation: Licensing determined fire drills were not practiced according to legislative requirements.
