Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act(CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulations(CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of practice (DoLSoP).

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.
Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: One play yard gate, leading to the side yard, was unable to latch closed, and the other gate, leading to the exit of the premise had screws coming loose, causing difficulty securing the latch shut.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the gates are in good repair, while children are in attendance.

Summary of Inspection:
During today’s inspection, there were 12 children, and two staff present.
COVID 19 prescreening was conducted at the door
At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Licensee is required to submit a corrective action plan to address the contraventions.

The following was discussed:
BCCDC COVID guidelines
The group child care was not currently in operation, and the room was not in use during the inspection.
