Observation: Rodent dropping observed on the floor in the basement next to the cooling units.
Corrective Action(s): Remove the rodent droppings in the areas noted. Clean and sanitize the areas with 100ppm bleach and allow to air dry.

Provide inovices for pest control services.

305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
Observation: 1. There was clutter found on the floor downstairs next to all of the shelving units (eg. approx. 10 packages of Purelife Water, bottles of detergents, take-out containers etc). Cluttering items could be potential harbourage areas for pests.
2. Air gap noted on the vertical edge of the exit door downstairs.
Corrective Action(s): 1. Re-organize the storage area to allow all items to be store at least 6" above the floor.
2. Cover air gap along the door noted with weather stripping to prevent entrance of pests.

Observation: The following areas require cleaning:
-shelving units beside the fridge in kitchen
-the shelves in the cabinets in the kitchen
-the drawers holding utensils

Cardboard lining must be removed from the cabinet and shelves in the kitchen. Discussed with staff that cardboard box is not to be used as a liner because they cannot be cleaned.
Corrective Action(s): Clean the sanitize with 100ppm bleach the areas noted above. Remove all card board lining.

Observation: 1. Multiple shelving units used for food storage were made of raw wood (upstairs and downstairs).
2. The door and wall leading to the downstairs storage area made of raw wood.
Corrective Action(s): Paint the surfaces noted a above to give a smooth, non-absorbent and easily cleanable surface.

Observation: The following items require repair:
1. As noted in previous inspection reports, countertops and cupboards were worn (crack noted on countertop, cabinet doors appeared water damaged/worned out).
2. Countertop to wall joint at sink requires recaulking.
3. Utensil drawer missing the front piece.
4. Red tape was used at floor connections.
Corrective Action(s): 1. Repair or replace damaged countertops and drawers noted above.
2. Recaulking the wall joint at the sink.
3. Repair or replace the front of the utensil drawer.
4. Repair or replace the floor connections. Red tape is not permitted.

- Chlorine sanitizer solution in spray bottles bleached out test strip, obtain test strips and mix only 2mL bleach with 1 liter of water to ensure solution is 100 ppm chlorine. In the interim, do not use this sanitizer on food contact surfaces.
- Permit posted in a conspicuous location
- Handwashing sinks in resident bathrooms had hot and cold running water, soap and paper towels.
- Ensure that at least one staff in the kitchen has FOODSAFE level 1 certification. **Must provide proof at next inspection date.
