Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSOP). All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19260 - CCLR s.58(2)(b) - The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation: A care plan was not reviewed annually with the parent for a child requiring extra support.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that the care plan is reviewed at least once a year.

Comments

At this inspection dated February 29, 2024 there were 6 children and the Licensee present. A walk-through of the home was completed today.

At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Licensee is required to take corrective action to bring facility into compliance.
This inspection report was completed off site and emailed along with the Risk Assessment to the facility.

LO discussed and shared the following resources with the Manager onsite:
- Care Plans
- Fire Extinguisher: to be serviced and tagged annually
- Exemption
- Medication; aware of expiry date
