Introduction

A scheduled follow up inspection to routine #KTOR-BYYNB6 was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSOP). Areas of non-compliance identified at the last routine inspection were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19190 - CCLR s.57(3)(a) - A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.
Observation: Licensing reviewed 6 children's files and noted 1 did not contain consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness is available in writing.

Comments

At this inspection, there were 5 children and the Licensee present. At this inspection, the above noted contravention was identified.
The Licensee is to correct the contravention by the date indicated, and provide a written response to licensing.

The inspection report was written off-site due to COVID-19 protocol – all details were reviewed with the Licensee prior to writing the report. A copy of the follow-up inspection report will be e-mailed to the Licensee.
