Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19220 - CCLR s.58(1)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation: During the inspection it was identified that 4 children who require extra support did not have a care plan.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all children who require extra support have a care plan available.

Comments

At the inspection dated January 18, 2022 there were 13 children, 1 staff and the manager present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Actions required by the licensee and actions required the LO included here. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Promoting daily outdoor activities
· Care plans for children requiring extra support
· Emergency preparedness practice annually
· Reporting of Reportable Incidents

· Reportable Incident Bulletin
· Reportable incident forms
· Care Plan Bulletin
