Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11200 - CCLR s.17 - A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed a container of antibacterial wipes in an unlocked bathroom cupboard.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that children do not have access to any object or substances that may be hazardous to the health and safety of a child.

Comments

Summary of Inspection
At the routine inspection conducted today July 15, 2021, there were 3 children, and the Licensee present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified and was corrected during the inspection. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed.
The following education/recommendations were provided:
Bleach and water solution; needs to be changed everyday
Care plans; what to be included and how often reviewed
Booster seat requirements.
The contents of the inspection report was reviewed with the Licensee at the time of the inspection. This report was written off site ( .25 hrs ) due to Covid-19 to help promote health and hygiene. A copy of this report and the risk assessment was emailed to the facility.
No further action is required by Licensing and the Licensee.
