Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted today to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, Child Care Licensing Regulationand the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice. Evidence for this report was based on the writer's observations, review of the facility records, and information provided by the Licensee.

The following items were reviewed:
Licensing
Physical Facility
Staffing
Policies and Procedures
Care and Supervision
Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
Medication
Nutrition and Food Services
Program
Records and Reporting.

As part of this routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The risk assessment includes any violations identified during the routine inspection, and a 3 year 'historical' review of the facility's compliance and operation.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #SMOY-AG7UWL have been corrected except for those noted on supplementary pages.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12180 - CCLR s.22(2)(a) - A licensee must ensure that each employee (a) is trained in the implementation of the fire drill system and emergency plan described in subsection (1), including the use of any equipment noted in the fire drill system and emergency plan.
Observation: The previous facility inspection report noted the Licensee did not have their fire extinguisher serviced. The Licensee had serviced their fire extinguisher however the next date for servicing the fire extinguisher was December 2017. The fire extinguisher is fully charged and is operational.

Corrective Action(s): The Licensee will need to take the fire extinguisher in to have it serviced. Please note that this needs to occur on a yearly basis.

The Licensee was present with three children at the time of the inspection.
