Introduction

An unannounced follow up inspection to assess coded items on routine inspection #WBET-BEUNPG dated August 8, 2019.

Contraventions

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11160 - CCLR s.16(3)(a) - A licensee must ensure that the entire outdoor play area is (a) enclosed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and will ensure that children are free of harm.
Observation: At this inspection the Licensing Officer observed sections of the fence in both facility play grounds were missing . The manger stated that new fencing is being installed and but the work has not been completed. The manger stated the playgrounds are not being used.
Corrective Action(s): The outdoor playground must be adequately fenced. If an away playground is used an away playground plan must be approved by the Licensing Officer.
Date to be Corrected: Please inform the Licensing Officer by September 30, 2019 how this contravention will be addressed.

NUTRITION AND FOOD SERVICES: 17010 - CCLR s.48(1)(a) - A licensee must (a) ensure that each child has healthy food and drink according to the Canada's Food Guide.
Observation: The fridge temperature in the Group Child Care (Under 36 months) was 9c and the fridge temperature in the Group Child Care (30 months - school age) was 11c. The manager stated both fridges are at the lowest temperature setting. The facility plans on replacing both fridges.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that food that needs refrigeration is stored between 0 - 4c.

All items with the exception for those noted above from routine inspection #WBET-BEUNPG dated August 8, 2019.
During this inspection 50 children and 12 staff were present.
The licensee will provide a written response to CCFL stating how the contraventions on this report have been addressed.
